Our 14-day tour of New Zealand with MoaTrek was the first vacation I’ve had where my expectations were not only met, but repeatedly exceeded. We explored parts of the country we would have totally missed without MoaTrek’s personal contacts. Spelunking through a kilometer-long glowworm cave still in its natural state, enjoying the hospitality and sharing wonderful meals with locals at Lake Tarawera and Akaunui, and hooking up with just the right optional activities for us because our MoaTrek escort got to know us and our interests were definitely highlights. The accommodations and meal choices were spot on. Our fellow travelers were a joy to be with. And… New Zealand! My goodness, pictures cannot do it justice! Thank you, MoaTrek!

The countryside was spectacular with vistas from rainforests, grass meadows, wonderful gardens, mountains of all sizes and foliage from tree covered to spectacular barren pastel-striped mountains and of course snow peaked Mt Cook. All of MoaTrek's efforts and marvellous organisation before and during the tour certainly paid off as all of us were surprised and enthralled at every turn of the coach whether it bought new scenery or luxurious accommodation. This tour was most enjoyable throughout with excellent accommodation, delightful lunch stops and a comfortable coach with pleasant company. Each day we visited interesting historic places. There were numerous highlights such as the Bird Recovery Centre and a lunch of fish and chips as you have never before tasted!

We enjoyed the company and will have many memories of the new places; the colours were great in Queenstown/Arrowtown, and the accomodation right at the top. Must give top marks to our driver and tour escort - they certainly 'made' the trip and looked after us well. Doubtful Sound really was the highlight and we made the most of it - went out on the 'tender' before dinner and saw and heard the Sound at its most peaceful time. The crew were great and went out of their way to answer questions; the cabin was just our size, and very comfortable. We were very lucky to have had the best of what the Sounds can give.

I had no idea of just how much was to actually happen over those few days! The venue for most events at the Sound Shell was so convenient to our Te Pania Hotel and so even with the streets closed to traffic it was all at reasonable walking distance. The vintage car parade was a real eye opener and I’m not a car buff. The tour driver was excellent, patient, and informative as well as being an excellent driver. Thank you MoaTrek for our lovely time away, good company and even the weather was perfect! All in all, a fabulous trip.
